Saying Goodbye

Sometimes saying goodbye is no big deal.  Bye.  See you later.  Until tomorrow, etc...
Other times it's not so easy.

My husband's grandfather passed away last week.
We miss him already.
He was a very interesting man, who led a very interesting life.
I'm happy to have known him, and I'm so glad our son got to know his great-grandfather.  They had a sweet relationship and loved each other very much.  I'll miss the sweet little song he'd sing to Elias that always made him smile.

I took this of them just last month

Goodbye Dzeda (Grandpa) Orloff.

Wow, what a month.
Now my sweet lil' toddler has a nasty cold.
I need more sleep.
I need a vacation.
I really, really need to make some art.

Anybody want to come over and clean my house, do my laundry, and watch my poor sick cutie so I could lock myself in my studio for a few hours?
Anybody?

I'm sorry to read about your loss. Looking at the photo I can imagine he was a sweet man! About laundry and cleaning house, just forget it! Those things can wait, really ;-) Sit next to the sick little one and make some kind of art, it will make you feel better.... A little bit of paint and my art journal always help me. No big art, just playing and getting my hands dirty LOL Hope things will get better for you soon!

I would help out if I lived near there!! I would love to visit california, I'm in boring virginia. Good-byes are hard. My great grandmother is french and she has always refused to say goodbye. If you say it to her she will not say it back. She doesn't believe in it. She would always tells me if I accidently said bye around her, "no goodbyes for they are forever. I will see you again."

I'm so sorry for you and your family Esther--you'll be in my thoughts.....and don't worry about the house--it will be waiting for you when you're ready (I should know :)
And besides--it'll just get messy all over again--so go make some art!

I'm sorry for the loss your family has experienced. It's always a difficult time. I'm not much on house cleaning myself but I would happily come over and make art with you and together we could watch your sweetie. Sometimes having a partner in crime helps. :) Hope things get better soon. Hugs!

I would if I was nearer :) I remember how difficult finding time for yourself can be when family are all encompassing. I am sorry for your loss this week..it is always so sad to lose a treasured member of the family - I hope your memories help ease the pain a little :)
